Our Story

Built on Experience.
Driven by Mission.

Laguardia Translations was founded by someone who lived the problem and built the solution. Fifteen years later, we're still doing it the same way: personally, purposefully, and with care.

Language Access
Is Personal to Us

Clarissa Laguardia founded this company because she lived the problem. She immigrated to the U.S. at 18, without her family, without the language support that should have been there, and learned firsthand what it means to navigate systems without a voice.

That experience wasn't just formative. It was the blueprint. Every policy decision, every linguist Clarissa hires, every institutional partnership we build traces back to one belief: language should never be a barrier to dignity, services, or opportunity.

Today, Laguardia Translations partners with school districts, law firms, healthcare systems, government agencies, and nonprofits throughout the Sacramento region and NorCal, the same institutions that could have made a difference for people like Clarissa when she arrived.

"We want to make sure language is never a barrier to someone accessing services with dignity and respect."

Our Mission
& Values

We believe language access is a right, not a privilege. Every person deserves to navigate systems, including legal, medical, and educational contexts, with full comprehension and dignity.

That belief shapes how we hire, how we serve clients, and how we build our network of linguists. It's not just what we say. It's how we operate every day.

Dignity Above All

Every person who needs language access deserves to be treated with full respect, whether in a courtroom, a clinic, or a school meeting. We train our linguists to honor that.

California-First Hiring

We prioritize California-based linguists, supporting the local economy and ensuring our team understands the regional context of every community we serve.

Personal Vetting

Clarissa personally vets every linguist in our network. Credentials matter, but shared values matter more. Community commitment is non-negotiable.

Accuracy as Obligation

In legal and medical contexts, a mistranslation isn't a minor error; it can change someone's life. We treat accuracy with the seriousness it demands.

Certified,
Credentialed & Verified

Our credentials aren't decorative. They represent the legal standing, professional training, and institutional trust that institutional clients require, and that the people we serve deserve.

ATA Certified

American Translators Association certified, the gold standard for professional translation quality.

State Court Certified

California state court–certified interpreters available for all court proceedings and legal hearings.

Federal Court Certified
