These terms govern your use of the Laguardia Translations website. Please read them carefully. The professional services we provide are governed by the separate written agreement between us, which takes precedence over anything on this page.
These Terms and Conditions govern your use of the Laguardia Translations website at laguardiatranslations.com. By accessing or using this website, you agree to be bound by them. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.
These terms apply to your use of the website. The professional services we provide are governed by the separate written service agreement, statement of work, contract, or purchase order between us. Where those documents and these terms conflict, those documents control.
Laguardia Translations is a Sacramento-based language access provider offering document translation, in-person interpretation, over-the-phone and video remote interpretation, desktop publishing, cultural consulting, revision and update support, and interpreting equipment rental to institutional and individual clients.
Descriptions of services on this website are for general information. Availability of specific languages, credentials, timelines, and delivery methods varies by assignment and is confirmed in writing when we quote your project.
Submitting the quote request form on this website is an inquiry, not an order, and does not create a contract or reserve an interpreter. Nothing on this website constitutes an offer capable of acceptance.
Quotes are based on the information you provide. If the scope, word count, document condition, event duration, location, or language requirement differs from what was described, we will revise the quote before proceeding. A binding engagement is formed only when we and you have both confirmed the assignment in writing and, where applicable, executed a service agreement or accepted a purchase order.
Unless stated otherwise, quotes are valid for thirty days.
To deliver accurate work on time, we depend on you to:
Our translators and interpreters render meaning faithfully and completely between languages, preserving the intent, tone, and register of the original. They do not add, omit, editorialize, advise, advocate, or explain beyond the source message, and they maintain impartiality as their professional codes of ethics require.
Language services are not legal, medical, financial, immigration, or other professional advice. A translated or interpreted communication does not substitute for advice from a qualified attorney, clinician, or other professional. Decisions you make based on translated or interpreted content remain your own.
Certification requirements differ by jurisdiction, agency, and receiving institution. Where you need a translation certified, notarized, apostilled, or produced in a particular format, tell us in advance so we can confirm we are able to meet that requirement.
We treat your source materials, project details, and the content of interpreted communications as confidential, and we require the same of every linguist and staff member assigned to your work. We will not disclose them except as necessary to perform the services, as you direct, or as required by law. Where your organization requires a specific nondisclosure agreement, business associate agreement, or information security protocol, we are able to execute one.
Our handling of personal information is described in our Privacy Policy.
The design, text, graphics, logos, and other content of this website are owned by Laguardia Translations or its licensors and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws. You may view, download, and print pages for your own informational and business use. You may not reproduce, republish, distribute, modify, or exploit any part of the site commercially without our prior written permission. The Laguardia Translations name and logo are our trademarks and may not be used without permission.
You retain all rights in the source materials you send us. Upon full payment, and unless your service agreement provides otherwise, you own the delivered translation of your materials. We retain the right to keep archival copies for recordkeeping, quality assurance, and legal purposes, and we retain ownership of our own translation memories, glossaries, methods, and templates to the extent they do not contain your confidential content.
Rates, minimums, travel charges, rush fees, payment terms, and cancellation and no-show terms are set out in your quote or service agreement. Any pricing shown on this website is indicative and subject to confirmation for your specific assignment.
Interpretation is scheduled time. Once an interpreter is confirmed for a date, cancellations and reschedules made inside the notice period stated in your agreement may be billable. Invoices are due according to the terms on the invoice, and we may suspend work on overdue accounts.
You agree not to:
We may restrict or terminate access to the site for any conduct we reasonably believe violates these terms or harms us or others.
We work to keep the information on this website current and accurate, but we do not warrant that it is complete, correct, or up to date, and content may change without notice. We do not guarantee that the site will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free, and we may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of it at any time.
This website contains links to and content from third parties, including social media platforms, mapping services, and video hosted by YouTube. We do not control those services and are not responsible for their content, availability, terms, or privacy practices. Your use of them is governed by their own terms.
This website and its content are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Laguardia Translations disclaims all warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, and non-infringement, with respect to this website.
Nothing in this section limits any express warranty or service commitment we make in a written service agreement with you.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Laguardia Translations and its officers, employees, contractors, and linguists will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost revenue, lost data, or business interruption, arising out of or relating to your use of this website, however caused and on any theory of liability.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total aggregate liability arising out of or relating to your use of this website will not exceed one hundred United States dollars. Liability arising out of professional services is governed by the limitation of liability provisions in the applicable service agreement.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations of liability, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Laguardia Translations and its officers, employees, contractors, and linguists from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses, including reasonable attorneys' fees, arising out of or relating to your use of this website, your breach of these terms, or any claim that materials you provided to us infringe or misappropriate the rights of a third party.
These terms and any dispute arising out of or relating to them or to this website are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict of laws rules. You and Laguardia Translations agree that the exclusive venue for any such dispute is the state or federal courts located in Sacramento County, California, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of those courts.
If any provision of these terms is found unenforceable, that provision will be limited or removed to the minimum extent necessary and the rest will remain in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of it. You may not assign these terms without our written consent; we may assign them in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets. These terms, together with our Privacy Policy, are the entire agreement between you and us regarding your use of this website.
We may revise these Terms and Conditions at any time by posting an updated version on this page and revising the effective date above. Your continued use of the website after a revision means you accept the updated terms. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
